The Myler Western Dee with 2 Modified Hooks for Curb Straps and Ported Barrel Mouthpiece (MB 33) is a Level 3 Myler bit, and is produced from stainless steel. The mouthpiece is produced from polished sweet iron, which oxidizes when it comes into contact with moisture in the horse’s mouth, releasing a sweet taste. It also possesses a copper inlay placed on the interior section of the bars to encourage salivation.
This bit also boasts a unique ring as part of its design, allowing the rider to attach a leather curb strap (Myler’s Leather Curb Kit 89-0042 is recommended for use in conjunction with this bit), which is positioned slightly higher than normal and encourages the horse to flex at the poll . Tom Wicklund of Performance Horse Arena (Rogue Valle, Southern Oregon) worked with Myler to develop this bit. It is available in three different sizes: 4.75″, 5″ and 5.5″.
This bit has been crafted according to the renowned Myler philosophy, incorporating ergonomic design elements to facilitate communication between horse and rider and minimize distractions that can hinder performance.
